The late season water fowl hunting in New York State holds special promise for those willing to undergo the rigors of a late season adventure! The Finger Lakes region of NYS is an area known for its “World Class” gunning for Redheads and Bluebills! This region can also hold a fair number of Canvasbacks depending on temperatures and migration. During the 2016-2017 season, the Western Zone second half will be Saturday December 31st through Sunday January 15th. Our early assessment of these dates is that it should be fantastic for our sportsmen! Normally, we fill these dates through the summer and early fall however, this year we will be taking care of things early. Over the next few weeks, we will be calling all of our regulars and giving them their choice of dates. We will also be on the phones with new clients looking to get in on this tremendous gunning. Hunts are $300 per gun/per day and you are welcome to book as many days as the calendar allows. We prefer groups of 3 or 4 hunters (this is easily managed in our boats) . Should you have a group larger than this, extra boats can be added to handle the additional size. Hunters looking for taxidermy grade specimens should consider this time frame. Ducks and geese are in full nuptial plumage at this time of year, making them excellent examples for mounting. We will base out of Ithaca, NY during this time ! We look forward to sharing this adventure with you this duck season. Capt. Bill Saiff III
